PAT
The Pulling Aptitude Test (PAT) is a chance to test your dog’s instinct to pull.
The SHCA PAT test includes:
-
Harness Trial:The judge will put a properly-sized harness on the dog to evaluate the dog’s willingness to accept having it put on and wearing it.
-
Pulling Beside Another Dog with a Pulling line: After wearing the harness the handler will hook the dog to a pulling (tug) line, with another dog beside it, the judge will evaluate:

-
The lack of aggressiveness toward the other dog.
-
How quickly they adjust to the tension of having another dog working alongside, how quickly they are able to focus on pulling & not the other dog.
-
Eagerness to pull when released to do so.
